Do Not Listen to the Costa Rica Weather Forecast: IT'S (HILARIOUSLY) WRONG

There’s this joke we have here in Costa Rica—except it’s not really a joke, and no one ever gets it. The joke is that the weather forecast always, ALWAYS says it’s raining here…and yet, it never is.

Okay, let me rephrase that: during the rainy season, it might be a little rainy, but during the high season—when it is decidedly not rainy—the weather forecast still says it is. And clients get so worried. Of course they do! They’re trying to plan boat trips and beach trips and ziplining trips and ALL THE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, and yet, the weather forecast says rain, rain and more rain again.

No one knows why this happens. [shrug emoji]

Truly, we field so many calls from clients who are looking at weather forecasts at that very moment in time, while we’re here in Costa Rica at the beach looking at another bright and sunny day at that very same moment in time. And it’s like that every single day in the high season, November through April. Can’t go wrong! You would basically be winning the lottery to come here during those months and experience rain. :)

So, sure, add San Jose, Costa Rica to your weather app on your phone—but don’t pay it any mind. The only time you’ve ever got to worry about rain is in the low season, May through October, and even then? It’ll rain for an hour or two and then stop, so you can still get in plenty of beach time! In fact, low season is one of my favorite times in Costa Rica. Then the only thing you have to worry about is mold. ;)
